Digital pen based applications
Karmanya is the flag ship company that develops the Digital pen based applications. Based on Anoto functionality and on .Net and C# we create applications and products like Digital Lab notebook. Our applications handle pen requests and process the data as per the client requirement which is obtained either through docking the pen or using a Bluetooth enabled device like mobile phone or PDA.
The applications are developed to process data by generating image using pen stroke with high resolution which will allow you the illusion of it being written by hand.
The applications developed process data on using Intelligent Character Recognition technology to convert hand written text to computer based text and store in database like XML. MS SQL, Oracle, Access et al.
ERP applications
Kaushalam a sister concern of Karmanya develops ERP systems for clients. Our biggest project was to develop ERP system for North East Fasteners.
About Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System:
- Generally, ERP is a software package or solution that most often used within the manufacturing environment.
- ERP is a business tool that management uses to operate the business day-in and day-out.
- ERP is usually comprised of several modules such as a customer module, a purchase order module, a stock module, a vendor module, a production module etc.
North East Fasteners (NEF) System:
- It is an ERP System.
- Old system was developed in Visual Basic and MS-Access as database. But data are increasing day by day in the old system and MS-Access database can store limited data. So, avoiding this problem NEF ERP was developed.
- NEF ERP made in Microsoft .Net technologies and Microsoft SQL Server 2000 used as a database.
The modules developed are:
- Break time management facility is included in the system. This module helped regulate break time taken by the workers and not let people idle away production time.
- User can also see that how many machines are available for making new job work? With this information the user can estimate the time for production and the approximate delivery date to the customer. The delivery time and the production time taken can be estimated.
- Inventory management facility is also included means company can store stock of particular customer’s order. So, if next time that customer will come then user will check this customer’s stock. If he has some stock then will make his order as per stock. (This thing only applicable if company knows that this particular customer comes after certain time and it’s a regular customer of company).
- Reports were developed in the system like Monthly Invoice, Purchase Orders, Late Headed, Customer Debit etc.
- Competitor module is included in the system. By this module user knows about their competitor company info like cost of part compare to their company.
- Charts were included in the system. Charts like how many orders made in different years. So from this user can see the company production year wise. Projections,
- Issues module is included in the system. In this module, if any part (order) is rejected by the customer then this part will going under Issues.
- Quality Control module is also there in the system. Purpose of using this module is that whatever orders that user will make, all the Quality things should be maintained in that order.
- Vendor Module:- In this module user has a list and some other details of all the vendors from whom company will buy raw materials. By seeing those details, company will give an order to particular vendor.
The ERP system was maintained and supported for 6 months for any additions or modifications.
Practice management applications
Kaushalam has developed client-server applications and practice management applications based on .Net technology.
Eden is our project which is a practice management application developed for veterinary care. It is a network based application. Its is a three tier application – Presentation layer (developed in C# .Net using Infragistics tool which we call as EDEN Client), Business Logic layer (developed using C# .Net application and all the database transactions are handled by this application which we call as EDEN Server), Database Layer (stores data centrally under SQL server database).
The modules created are:
- Client desk – This module helps the customer gather and collate all information related to client/owner of the pet/animal. It will help schedule appointments for different patients for different doctors/hospital employee.
- Patient desk – Here the module undertakes to define all information related to patients. Based on POMR (Problem Oriented Medical Record) – symptoms, diagnosis, treatment flow, patients’ medical history is housed. POMR helps to know what disease the patient has, the current treatment, the procedures, the results, vital signs etc are known.
- Business desk – This module helps keep the administrative aspects of the business in line. All information related to inventory, invoice, purchase order, payments, resource management are defined.
- These modules are integrated to create a seamless file of a patient right from entry for the veterinary care to the exit from the hospital. It also allows the hospitals to keep records for future use.
- This application will be made more robust and convenient through integration of digital pen technology.
- Graphics application – for e.g. our project on Avery. We have created an application for t-shirt maker where anyone can create graphics on t shirt and get it printed then set it by ironing it on the tshirt.
